The Givenchy Look-alike Boot

I got these a bit before my trip to Europe but didn't brought them with me cause of the size and my suitcase space :(

I discovered that around "sale" time at Zara all of the sudden all these shoes and boots pop up that were actually sold out, and this is why; apparently all other Zara stores in the US will ship what ever they didn't sell to the New York locations.... Ssssssweet :) .. still my size is always a toughy, most sizes left in the good shoes are always a size 9 or 10!
These are a size 6 but I rather had them in a size 7, for the reason that they would come up higher at the leg, oh well.

I really love these boots because they are a bit more masculine and I can't wait to wear them with long layers or leather pants!!

Reflections

I was looking through my old collections - I'm a fashion designer- and upon getting a (steady 9-5) job offer in New York, I was busy and on my way getting myself out there as a designer,

bc New York I was always hussling haha, dropping off clothing with stylists and photographers for magazine publications, doing styling gigs myself, I loved it but was also affraid to be honest, I was never a shark, was too shy, I'm still too shy actually... so when I got the job offer it was easy, I was in New York, had a steady job, no stress and was doing what I loved, and yes... I burried my big dreams a bit.....

Strangly enough, I never thought I would pick up on Designing again, I did think a lot about it, I mean... seeing my college friends planting jobs at Balmain!! boy, did I feel stupid for having not persuid the oppurtunities back then!! But I was shopping shoes non stop so no complaints there :)

And then, on a blue moon I made those embellished tights, for fun and myself, all of the sudden after 4 years I made something again, and I never expected those little basterds to make their little way to even Vogue.com

and actually designing again hahaSo here I am back home in Europe for a bit going through all my sketches, drawings and designs, I don't think I will ever be a buisness person though, when I design I'm so busy making the "perfect" garments and concept that my mind is far from manufactoring and production let alone selling, but I love doing it....
:)

I'm wearing a hand dyed silk straped and draped top, a gray leather with swarovski embellished skirt (both designed by me) An Alexander Wang blazer ( tucked in the skirt ) Zara boots

x

strolling around

Still in the Netherlands, as we move into fall it was time to pull out the tights,

with living out of my suitcase I have no access to my fast collection of shoes, but hey I love how these Zara boots go with about everything :) Boy am I happy I have tossed these into my packing pile,

I just know once I get back in New York it will be like I see my closet for the first time ever haha, it will be a happy reunion :)

Choco no4

Last day in Modica, Sicily

Still enjoying every last bit of this City and of course most of all the Chocolate, haha
We spent so much time figuring out every possible way to bring back the chocolate but the truth is.. it wouldn't survive the 40 degree celcius heat and with that the 4 hour car ride to the airport :(

So in the end we had some massive laughs goofing around with the Choco nb 4 bottle, and lots of choclate in between no need to say:) best part is, I don't know if anyone noticed.. but, I actually am really lazy as it comes to make-up, foundation, bit of mascara and thats it, for the Choco photo I finally got triggered into wearing some lipstick and eyeliner too, a rare sight believe me, prob the first and last make-up photo haha :)

The dress is a "prada Knock-off"from a few seasons ago by Zara, and the boots Zara too,
yeah I know a boot over-kill but thats mainly because ryan-air's 15kg luggage restictions :(
So I had to "smart pack"the trick was to find the lightest suitcase around, mostly a suitcase alone weights 5 kg!!

btw... I will make a question and answer post so you can shoot your questions :)

Still enjoying Modica's Baroque, Gelati, Chocolate, Wine, Food and the Italian People, I can't get enough of this City, it's so beautiful! I'm planning to visit more city's all over Europe for Architecture and Scenery!

The dress is H&M, I have it for years now and wear it throughout the year!! its kind of my everlasting dress and because of its simple a-line shape and simple detailing so easy to update with different shoes, boots, bags, scarfs, coats, tights etc :)

Modica

Modica, Sicily

Modica is a beautiful little city in the Mountains, not far from Ragusa, and known for its Sicilian Baroque and its Chocolate. Grotesque masks, Balconies, archways, staircases/steps in the narrow alleys and streets leading further up the city,

In the scorching heat a lot of gelati, afternoons with my nose in the Modica Choclate and in the evening it was waiting to get a seat at the over crowded restaurants and soooooo worth it... oh Sicilian food :) although I have to admit that for two days I had "pizza chips" for dinner; "tomato, cheese, origano and.... french fries"... seriously... on top of the pizza and it was damn tasty!

Baroque is something I will start looking at for Inspiration, I can write hours about Baroque Architecture but I will spare you all :), I just feel its something worth fashion wise to dig a bit deeper into... again...

The dress is Marc by Marc Jacobs, and the heels Zara, I think they are super comfi, I climbed about 1000 stairs/steps up on them, on these old city pavements with no problems, the stairs and hills down was well... let's just say I'm happy I didn't rolled all the way down :)
