pattern mixing

Blouse; Jill Stuart, dotted top; TopShop, Skirt; vintage, Boots; Jeffrey Campbell

Today I just felt like mixing different patterns unusually together, sketchy florals, dots and an Asian Kimono print. And since I was busy making no sense I decided to wear the red Clog Boots instead of (safely) gray, pastel or black wedges or boots ;)

ClogBoots

Scalloped Blazer; courtesy of Storets, Floral Shorts; TopShop, Black bustier Top; courtesy of StylebyMarina, Belt; Vintage, Jeffrey Campbell Clog Boots; ModCloth

First outfit with the new Red Clog boots! The booties are perfect for floral and vintage inspired looks, although I'm sure I will actually wear them with everything...

and this outfit remembers me that I totally need some new belts! this is my only brownish belt, that I've got for years now and a good belt can add so much to an outfit.. I'm actually quite clueless when it comes to shopping good belts and have no idea for what to go!! I always end up shopping gold belts and none of what I actually need... some serious good belt suggestions needed :)

Jeffrey Campbell Red-y Mercury Boot

Jay!!! My Jeffrey Campbell Red-y Mercury Boots just came in from Modcloth!!
Man I love these Babies to death and they are comfortable too! Can't wait to take some outfit pics with these :)

For the longest time it was hard to choose between these and the Solestruck jeffrey campbell Underground clog boot in Tan/Nude. The nude colored clog boot was already sold out in my size so my choice was easily made, and for the goods because these red booties are perfect to spice up every pale, dusted and musty outfit.

You can find the short ankle boot version of this boot here and here and of course this Mercury Boot at Modcloth here (and better hurry since there is only one left!)

Other Clog Boot love are: the Modcloth off-white/cream/tan ankle clog bootie the ShopBop Jeffrey Campbell Black Lief bootie, the FreePeople Solvang clog bootie and the winsford clog Boot.

pleaded and draped

Heather gray jersey blazer; H&M, asymmetrical brown tunic; H&M, brown draped pocket shorts; courtesy of StylebyMarina, socks; H&M, Jeffrey Campbell Mariel wedges in black fur courtesy of solestruck.

Today I really felt like playing with the brown tones of the draped shorts and tunic by layering it with a heather gray blazer and ash-blue socks and a deep mahogany almost black nail polish.

The H&M jersey blazer is perfect by the way, it really wears like a cardigan and has a slight boxy-boyfriend fit which makes it really versatile in styling, especially for layering on top of shorts, skirts, rompers and maxi skirts and dresses..
(you know, to make things a bit more grungy or easy and laid-back instead of an uptight corporate look ;)

shoes and shorts

Fringe shoulder padded top; H&M, Mint Shorts; StylebyMarina, shoes; Jeffrey Campbell Mariel in black fur from Solestruck.

Some newbies in my wardrobe; the mint shorts and the (finally) Mariel wedges!! I'm loving the mint shorts so much that I'm seriously thinking ordering them in Beige too, I just figured that since I'm planning to wear them in Fall too (with tights) its worth the investment!

And then the shoes! I had been craving these for a while, these babe's are perfect and walk so much more comfortable then the Topshop wedges!

fuckyeahlilacdreams

London cropped Tee; TopShop, Lilac bodycon dress; TopShop, Boots; Frye

So yeah, the dress was way more see-through then I thought, you know; everything's fine in front of the mirror but the outside its a whole different story..

I'm still "desperatly seeking" a simple skin colored (note; not see-through tube) dress that I can wear under everything.. somehow they only come around being shape shifting, shape lifting, shape whatever-ing, looking like the most uncomfortable architectural corsets, or overly lace and yes see-through.. no I'm looking for a very simple stretchy tube that's uhm actually invisible..

The Frye boots get better and better while being worn, I remember being so disappointed when I just got them and they still looked brand new, I guess with boots the quality of the leather must be good in order for that nicely worn feel..

Right now I'm really eying the All Saints chalk boots but I still have a hard time visualizing how they would turn out and a hard time figuring out which ones I like the most; these, these or these, or stick with the damisi model in chalk suede (that I already have in black leather) hmmm

Cloud 9

Peach Top; Style by Marina, Vintage Slip Dress, Shoes; Vanessa Bruno, Brown Leather Bag; Zara

I was playing a bit with a nude/peach/pink color scheme where I wear the StylebyMarina Peach Top over a frumpy slip dress and (finally) wear my suede pink/nude Vanessa Bruno wedge sandals with pink socks.

These shoes are a great example of shoes where I'm too careful about not to mess them up to the extend that I hardly ever wear them
.. Also I'm lately so used to platform wedges and clogs that I hardly wear anything else (apart from keds and boots), if it comes to heels and heights the answer will be 5" platforms so it might be time to detox from platforms just a tiny bit...

The Peach Top is a winner for me, I love the color, scalloped shape the zipper detailing and material.. (big smiles)

backwards

H&M floppy hat, H&M cardigan (worn backwards), Zara booties

I finally got my hands on a floppy hat.. I had been looking for a good hat for ages and loved the American Apparel woolen floppy hats the most but they somehow weren't the right fit for me... So it became this H&M straw floppy hat instead.

I'm wearing an gray H&M cardigan backwards (buttons on the back) as a dress, with wearing cardigans backwards you can play with the detailing on the back, keeping the look at the front very simple and minimalistic. For this look it might be smart to size up on the cardigan.. I finished off the look with last seasons Zara booties.

I'm getting ready for the Netherlands-Brazil World Cup match, hoping it will be a good match with beautiful football! argghh can't wait..
