OUTFIT: Double the Fun

Last February we were asked to style and model Pennyblack's FW 2012 collection for their Megalog Magazine (lookbook) and Online Portrait in New York! You might already know Italian Brand Pennyblack or have seen their collaborations with the BlondSalad and FashionSquad before? Basically they publish 2 Megalog LookBooks a year presenting their new collection in different photoshoots and it was such an honor to be asked and an amazing opportunity esspecially because I got flown to new York during Fashion Week!


THE SHOOT


The idea Nadia and I had was to capture exactly that what we love about Blogging! "taking pictures" together and yes, secretly we had most fun matching outfits! 


We only had 1 afternoon to see the Pennyblack collection and to pre-style our looks which was quite hectic but so much fun since we really tried to match our looks while still keeping it our own style! 
The Photo Shoot itself, taking place around the Meatpacking area took only 1 day as well, where we had limited time due to light and snow! I still can't believe we manged to shoot 12 looks in only a few hours and had a great lunch in between!





We really liked the idea of having movement in our photos! At first we kept doing jumps but we quickly realized we needed a broader spectrum with playing with the movements so in came the "bag toss" and Nadia's "hair flip" (My favorite Pennyblack looks are these first 2 photos; the checked trousers, skirts and coats in Yellow, Blue and Green)



OMG, haha, what can I say, first of all we are totally silly for actually styling and matching our "Navy" looks, including the pompom hats but can you imagine us walking through New york like this? haha and then the "Photo Taking" part; We stood in the middle of a busy street where we were jumping up and down but somehow we couldn't match our paste! When one of us was "Up" the other one was "Down" people on the street ended up laughing with tears in their eyes.. Wait.. WE ended up laughing with tears in our eyes our selfs :)

New Loafers

With all the busy Fashion Week schedules I would almost forget to tell you that I did manage to do some shopping during the month of September! Whether it was in Amsterdam, Stockholm(1,2,3), New York (1,2,3) or Paris(1), I would never fail to make some time for some valuable spending ;)

I was so happy to find these at the Aldo in New York since some classic ultra feminine loafers were high on my wish list! (and, no, that doesn't mean I stopped the search for these ;)

Sofitel New York

Standing outside the Sofitel Hotel on our last day in New York, just before heading out on our "last" shopping spree which ended up being an adventure (all adventure creds go to Yara!)

Since it was still quite hot and we had a lot of walking to do I was wearing my (new) sheinside navy blue dress with Zara velvet loafers, kind of an easy look :)

We were so lucky to be invited to stay at the Sofitel Hotel, based in Midtown Manhattan, a very short walk from Bryant Park and Times Square, the location and Hotel couldn't be more perfect! 

I always pay attention to locations for the sake of the trains/subway when staying in New York, especially during fashion week. Around this area you can find almost all the trains you need to go quickly uptown, downtown to the meatpacking district or east!

The Hotel was amazing, really one of the best Hotels I have stayed so far! The room was perfect for the two of us staying together!





Yara's look! I'm so in love with her leather shorts and studded loafers and hemmmm yes, the bag! Yara was also the best Fashion Week Companion ever haha, I don't think I have ever laughed so much! I can still feel my abs!





After taking these photo's we went shopping (the most funny shopping spree ever) 

It was Epic Yara day; Yara who got a ring stuck on her finger in a store that she couldn't get off making the most funny faces, Yara who lost her camera bag, Yara running around loosing her shoe, Yara running back again, Yara who found her Camera bag again, only to name a few Yara moments and all in just a few hours ^_^ Loved it :) We had some really great laughs! I guess I particularly loved it since its normal me who runs around like a mad woman loosing everything ^_^

All in all I had such a great time with Yara staying in New york and the Sofitel Hotel and I can't wait for the next NYFW!

Flower Girls

 

The Australian Bloggers looking gorgeous together while taking a break from the shows at NYFW! All the floaty florals kind of deserved a little post of them own and besides the girls behind Tuula, Gary Pepper and Shine by Three are just totally nice and fun to hang out with!

Wearing a new knitted closet favorite from TopShop. The sweater kind of reminds me of the Wildfox Jumpers I was eyeing a while ago but my love for the Horse print far exceeds my love for the star or Cat-faces prints, and I love Cats so that says a lot! 

Anyway, I'm wearing this jumper to shreds haha, that I already know;) X
